Can't Wait!
I'm taking this class in November and I'm so excited! I got my sister in law to sign up, too. Anybody else? Kelly? Kelli? Mandi? Theresa? Who else reads this little blog? AMBER!! :)

Miss McKenna
I stole pictures off Kelly's blog again :) She took McKenna's 3 year old pictures herself instead of paying for portraits at JCPenney. They turned out so cute, so I snagged a couple and tried my hand at selective coloring. I had to call Mandi to get some direction, but I figured it out eventually. It's kinda fun!

Here's The Scoop
Okay, Theresa, here ya go! :)
There are gobs of bloggers that post their weekly scenarios. If you google "cvs deals" or "cvs scenarios" you'll find more than enough. Keeping the Kingdom First has a fun little challenge every week, good for beginners. This is where I started, but there are tons of resources!
You'll need to get an Extra Care card at CVS - all your purchases are linked to this, and that's how you earn the Extra Bucks. I had a handful of ECB's from previous weeks, so I used them to pay for most of my purchases, and only paid $3.27 out of pocket (OOP). I did this in 3 transactions so I could "roll" my ECB's to pay for the next one.
Transaction #1 -
Children's Advil - $5.79
-$1 off coupon here
-I used $4.50 in ECB's that I already had, so I paid .29¢, but if you don't have any ECB's, you'll pay $4.79 OOP and earn $5.79 ECB - just made $1!!
Transaction #2 -
Pampers - $8.88
Colgate - $2.99
-used $2/$10 here (page 30)
-$1.50 Pampers coupon
-$2 off Q I got from the dentist for the toothpaste
-$5.79 ECB from transaction #1
-$2 ECB
Paid $1.21 with tax
Get back $2 ECB from toothpaste
Transaction #3 -
Dawn - 88¢
2 Covergirl foundations - $7.99 buy one get one free
Balmex - 6.29
CVS Ibproufen tabs - $3.49
-used another $2/$10
-50¢ off Dawn Q
-$1 off Balmex Q
-$3.49 off CVS med - the first time you use your card in August, you'll get a coupon for a free product...this was mine
-$7.99 BOGO free Covergirl Q
-$4 ECB's from previous transactions
Pay $1.77 OOP, get back $2 ECB's from Balmex
I'm still learning, so these may not be the best way to work the deals, but it's fun anyways. Here are some of the "professional" CVS'ers on my blogroll:

That should get you started! It's a little overwhelming at first, but start out with the $5 challenge and see where that takes you. Lemme know if I can help!

New Layouts
This one was for a Speed Scrap (complete LO in an hour) last week at GDS. I'm no good at scrapping fast, but this one turned out pretty well! One of the requirements was to use foliage, but I couldn't quite make that work with this LO, so I deleted that piece off my end product.

Skeeters
I can't believe I went so long without doing a layout! I got a new computer, and am almost finished (re)organizing my stash in ACDSee. I think I lost some stuff in the move though...I can't find a lot of my date elements, and who knows what else I'm missing. I still have my old computer, so I may need to hook it back up and see if I can find the stragglers.

Good News and Bad News
Bad news is I'm so far behind in my scrapping, and will be sitting here on my behind all week to get caught up!
Good news is that GDS is giving away 2 free printed layouts in the Bloggy Giveaways Carnival. Check it out here, then join me as I sit here some more on my behind entering all the awesome giveaways!! This is the 3rd or 4th one...the first time I participated I won a Pirates of the Caribbean 2 DVD, and last time I won an awesome set of Bath and Body stuff!
And, Kelly...you should enter the GDS one for sure and win so you can print the layouts I made for you and told you I'd print but never did :)

It's Over :(
So this is the last week of the Amazing Digi Scrapping Race, and I just submitted our final layout so we are officially finished. :(
Challenge #11 all we had to do was use wings somewhere. See that itty bitty bee on the right hand page? Yup, those are my wings :)
My favorite layout of the day is the one for Challenge #12 - one partner had to provide journaling and pictures, and the other partner scrapped it. The topic was to scrap about your biggest accomplishment. I vacuumed the floor yesterday? The toilets are clean? Yeah. This is what Theresa created with my pic/journaling. I LOVE IT.

I Was Forced

I had to do it. Had to put my poor boy on a pink page. Hopefully it's not too terribly girly.

ADSR #10
A bit more mess than I prefer, but the challenge was to use 50 elements. I didn't even bother with adding drop shadows, for fear I would go crazy. Credits here.

ADSR Catch up
Amber, a friend IRL :) , has been bitten by the designing bug and is trying her hand at creating templates. She's made two this week, and they are both awesome! I used the first one to complete my challenge for The Amazing Digi Scrapping Race this week. You can pick up Amber's templates for free here!Credits here
This one was a doozy! It took me all week, but I finally finished it. Had a ton of things we had to use on the layout, and no more than two things could be from the same designer. Made me thankful for ACDSee! We had to write a letter to our 16-17 year old self, and this is what I came up with:

For this challenge, we had to "interview" an inanimate object:

Happy Easter from a tuckered out little boy! But hey, he didn't scream, so it's a step in the right direction :)

Ah-choo!
I was assigned Debra's Meet My Cat kit, which is really cute, but I'm allergic, so the kitty pictures were a little scarce around here. She was nice enough to loan me some pics, and I decided to use these of Holly's adorable little kittens. So cute, even if they do make my eyes all red and puffy! (Actually, now that I think about it, kittens aren't usually bothersome - it's the long haired cats that get me itching!)

Journaling Challenge
I really intended to do more challenges, but time is running out! This one is for the Journaling Challenge at GDS. We were supposed to journal about the meaning/story behind a name. I used Theresa's new kit that isn't in the store yet but will be free to those who participate in the Queen of the Crop-crop on Friday. Super cute kit!!

Amazing Digi Scrappin Race Challenge #1
The Amazing Race is my favorite reality show, so it's no surprise that I would want to play along in the Amazing Digi Scrapping Race! The prizes are fantastic and all you have to do is complete the challenge - no judging - yay! Each team that completes the race is then entered into the final drawing for some serious scrapping loot. Here's to Linked Layers and my fabuloso pard'ner!!

Cheezzzyy
This is probably the most lovey-dovey page you'll ever see from me! I really liked these papers and wanted to do something on the romantic end with them. It is a little out of my comfort zone, which I suppose is a good thing!

Bloggy Giveaways
Shannon is hosting another Bloggy Giveaway carnival this week! I had so much fun signing up for free stuff last time that I've decided to be on the giving end this go around. I've got some GDS money burning a hole in my pocket, and I'd love to give one happy digi-scrapper a $10 gift card! If you are a digi-scrapper, a digi-scrapper wannabe, or know someone who is, leave a comment on this post before Groundhog Day (Feb 2). I'll use a random number generator to choose a winner!
Round 4
This is my entry for the final round of the GDS Supreme Team contest. I'm not sure it's one of the top 12, but I finally worked on it long enough to make it something I was proud to post. I just kept hearing Tim Gunn's voice in my head, "Make it work!" There are some REALLY fantastic layouts - everyone is so talented. I especially love this one and this one, but there's not a bad one in the bunch!
